THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON MENTAL HEALTH
Abstract
In the modern digital world, social media has become deeply woven into our everyday routines. Platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter provide endless opportunities for communication, entertainment and self-expression. Despite these advantages, there is growing concern about the negative impact social media may have on mental health. Research indicates that spending too much time online can contribute to issues like anxiety, depression, loneliness and distorted body image- especially among teenagers and young adults. This article looks into how social media influences mental well-being and explores why it continues to be so compelling and addictive.
