Ushbu maqolada yangi tug‘ilgan chaqaloqlar holatini tez va obyektiv baholashda qo‘llaniladigan Apgar shkalasining mohiyati, tarkibiy qismlari va klinik ahamiyati yoritilgan. Apgar shkalasi bolani hayotining birinchi daqiqalarida baholash uchun mo‘ljallangan bo‘lib, yurak urishi, nafas olish, mushak tonusi, reflekslar va teri rangi kabi besh muhim fiziologik belgilarni hisobga oladi. Bu baholash neonatal reanimatsiya zarurligini aniqlash, tibbiy yondashuvni belgilash va statistik tahlillar uchun muhim diagnostik vositadir. Maqolada Apgar shkalasining afzalliklari, cheklovlari va zamonaviy pediatriyadagi roli ham tahlil qilinadi.
