EFFECTIVE METHODS FOR INCREASING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT IN EFL CLASSROOMS

Abstract

Student engagement plays a crucial role in the success of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. Engaged students are more motivated, actively participate in classroom activities, and achieve better language learning outcomes. This study explores effective methods for increasing student engagement in EFL classrooms. The research examines various instructional strategies, including interactive learning activities, collaborative tasks, technology integration, gamification, and student-centered teaching approaches. The findings indicate that creating a supportive learning environment and incorporating communicative activities significantly enhance students’ motivation, participation, and language proficiency. Furthermore, the use of digital tools and authentic learning materials encourages learners to take an active role in the learning process. The study highlights the importance of adopting innovative teaching methods to improve student engagement and achieve more effective EFL instruction.
