The translation activity from English to Uzbek carried out by Laziza Ziyodullayeva, Student of the School of the Creativity named by Abdulla Oripov., was analyzed based on linguistic, psycholinguistic and cultural-linguistic aspects. The study highlights the linguistic competence of a young translator, cognitive mechanisms manifested in the translation process, translation requirements within the framework of intercultural dialogue, and the importance of developing translation skills in school education. The translation of a literary text carried out by a student is given as an example, and its aspects such as semantic accuracy, equivalent selection, stylistic compatibility are analyzed from a scientific point of view. The results of the study show that the formation of translation competence in school-age students from an early age contributes to the in-depth mastery of a foreign language and the development of creative thinking.
